Inmates at the Tyre Central Prison in south Lebanon rioted Saturday voicing discontent over the return of a prisoner to their bloc, security sources told The Daily Star. Tensions were high in the prison facility after the inmates lit several mattresses on fire and shouted at the guards to take back the man who they claim is a trouble maker. The prisoners argued that Najib Ghorayeb self-mutilates on a regular basis and causes problems inside their building bloc. Ghorayeb was returned to Tyre Saturday after Nabatieh Prison, also in the southern region, refused to house him at the request of the central prison. Civil Defense personnel were able to put out the fire while security forces were deployed inside and outside the prison.
